An Artists Retreat
The quaint seaport city of Port Townsend exudes the timeless charm and warmth of a classic Norman Rockwell painting. Lush green hills and blufftops dotted with Victorian homes overlook the city’s historic waterfront district, where colorful landscapes and sweeping seascapes stretch in every direction.
Port Townsend is also known for its genuine small-town congeniality — a place where creativity, history, and natural beauty exist in perfect harmony. It is this distinctive symmetry between land, sea, architecture, and community that has inspired generations of artists, many of whom have captured the city’s unmistakable “Rockwell-esque” character in works displayed throughout local galleries.
Artist or not, many who discover Port Townsend quickly understand its enduring appeal — and often find they never want to leave.
