We are pleased to present our Featured Artist for August 2019, KarenLee Eaton. KarenLee has been taking pictures since she came upon her dad’s old 35mm Pentax SLR, and begged him to teach her how to use it; she was seven years old. Born and raised in Port Townsend, on the picturesque Olympic Peninsula, KarenLee is naturally drawn to seascape photography. “The beach with its various manifestations of sand, rocks, and wildlife, infused with its sweet salt air is the place I will always call home,” KarenLee says.
KarenLee’s new photographic love is her work with celestial and night sky photography, where she finds endless possibilities revealed in the heavens above. She says, “The sky holds many mysteries, and it is also a constant in form and time.”
KarenLee is a graduate of Washington State University, and also holds a certificate in Photography from the University of Washington. After 30 years as a social worker on the Olympic Peninsula, KarenLee has changed course and is now devoting all of her time and passion to her photographic work.
You may see KarenLee’s work at Gallery-9 in Port Townsend, at 1012 Water Street or on her website at www.karenleephotog.com
